Description

Dating to the early 19th century, 1-3 Northumberland Street comprises two storeys and features a curved corner facing Bailiffgate. The building has seven windows on its west side and one window on its north side. It is constructed of ashlar, with a horizontal band beneath the first-floor windows and a moulded eaves cornice. The roof is slate-covered, with four brick chimneys. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. Number 2 and 3 have six-panel doors, the upper four panels being raised and fielded, while Number 1 has a flush panel door with glazed upper panels. A modern extension to the south, built in a matching style but utilising reconstituted stone, is not included as part of the listed building.
