Description
Groom's Cottage and Coach House, built around 1800 and incorporating earlier materials, is located 50 metres west of Healey Hall. The building features squared stone construction with a slate roof and stands two storeys tall with four bays. It has double doors set in tall segmental-headed arches in the first and second bays, renewed 16-pane sash windows (with the upper window being a later 19th-century addition) in the third bay, and a vertical-panelled door in the fourth bay. The left gable is coped, while the roof is hipped to the right, and there is a stepped and corniced ridge stack. A later extension, set back to the right, is not of particular interest. The left side of the building displays masonry typical of the 17th century. Early 19th-century drawings indicate that there was a dovecote on the ridge to the left of the stack. This building is included for its group value.
