Description
This is a sheepfold and shepherd's shelter located approximately 1500 yards northeast of Lowshield Green, likely dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from dry stone walling and dressed stone, with a corrugated iron roof covering the shelter.
The sheepfold is circular, measuring about 50 feet in diameter, with an entrance situated on the south side. The east side incorporates a large rock that has fallen from the crag behind, serving as part of the wall. Attached to the north side is a single-storey, one-room cottage, which features a stable door on the west gable end and a small square chimney with ventilation slits below on the east gable end.
