Description
The stable block, located approximately 10 yards northwest of Melkington House, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of random rubble with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. The building consists of four ranges surrounding a central courtyard. The west range is two storeys high, with four stable doors beneath a continuous pent roof and three hit-and-miss windows for the granary on the first floor. The south range serves as a two-bay cart shed, supported by square piers and lintels. The north range includes a segmental carriage arch for a through passage on the right, and on the left, there are three stables with boarded doors. The east range mirrors this layout, featuring two segmental-arched carriage houses at the rear.
