Description
Alnwick Baptist Church, built around 1840, is part of the Howick Street development. The building is two storeys high and features three windows facing Lisburn Street and three facing Howick Street. It is constructed of ashlar stone and has a first-floor cill band along with a moulded eaves cornice. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The church has later casement windows, with the upper corners cut by glazing bars and painted red to create a pointed effect. The centre window on Howick Street is blind, and both frontages have central doors that are also blind. The entrance is located on the east side, part of a lean-to, and includes a flush panel door. The property is complemented by cast iron gates with ashlar gate piers, which are included in the listing.
