Description

23 Castlegate is a mid-19th century building constructed from ashlar stone. It stands two storeys high and features rusticated quoins and a cornice. The entrance is marked by an elaborate doorcase that includes pilasters and carved consoles. On the upper floor, there are three sash windows. The facade facing Tweed Street also includes sash windows and a segmental-headed carriage entrance. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 19 (odd) and No 23.
