Description
Edina House, located at 23 Quay Walls, is part of a notable group of 18th-century buildings. The structure is built of ashlar and features two storeys and a basement. It has an Adam-style doorcase and four later sash windows on the upper floor. The adjacent buildings, Nos 21 and 22, also contribute to the architectural significance of the area. No 21 has three storeys and a basement, with a scroll footstone to the gables and a pantiled roof. It features a Doric doorcase and two Venetian windows on each floor, along with one window in a single-storeyed wing. No 22 has two storeys, attics, and a basement, with three renewed sash windows above a well-crafted doorcase. The buildings along Quay Walls are recognized for their prominent position as the river frontage of Berwick, with Nos 19 to 23 forming a distinguished Grade II* group due to their fine architectural quality and proximity to the Custom House.
