Description

The stable and cart shed, located approximately 20 meters east of Hemlington Hall Farmhouse, dates from the early to mid-19th century and consists of two sections. It is constructed of brick in English garden wall bond and features a Welsh slate roof, with renewed clay pantiles on the east side. The north end has stone gable coping. The building is a single storey.

On the east face, there are five boarded doors at the left end, an off-centre blocked window, and three cart openings at the right end. The right opening is segment-headed, while the left and right openings are boarded up, and the middle has boarded double doors.

The west face features off-centre boarded double doors in a basket-arched opening with a blocked tympanum, a right boarded door, and a window with gauged brick flat arches. There is also a late 20th-century door at the right end. This structure is included for its group value, although the barn adjoining the south end has been altered too much to be of special interest.
