Description
The Yorkshire Bank, located at 35-37 High Row, is a late 19th century or early 20th century building featuring an ashlar facade. It has one tall storey with a narrow entrance bay on the left and a wide main bay that reflects the banking hall behind it. Square pilasters define the bays, and the windows of the banking hall are separated by engaged columns that have acanthus pattern bases and lotus tops. These columns support an entablature with a dentil cornice, which features a fillet carrying masks, and a parapet that completely conceals the roof. The columns are set on a plinth. The main door is framed by a wide architrave with shallow mouldings, while the small blank-panelled left bay serves as a yard entrance.
