Description
Nos 7 and 8 Prebend Row are late 17th century or early 18th century buildings. They are three storeys high and have four windows. The roof is high pitched, swept, and hip ended, recently covered with modern ridged tiles, and features an end chimney. The front is pebbledashed and has plain modern windows. There is an early 20th century shop on the ground floor. The building returns to Priestgate, where it is also three storeys high with two windows and a wide blank bay on the right. This side has a high pitched hip ended roof, renewed in modern tiles, with the wall pebbledashed above and rendered smooth below. The sash windows have flush wood architraves, with all but one replaced. A butcher's shop occupies the corner. The buildings are included partly due to their prominent corner position and partly for their group value.
