Description
This is a dovecote located at Low Middleton Farm, approximately 150 meters south of Woodstock, dating from the mid-18th century. It features a squared red sandstone plinth and narrow brickwork in English bond, topped with a renewed pantiled roof. The dovecote has a large octagonal plan and a chamfered plinth. On the north side, there is a bricked-up doorway with alternating jambs. A mid-wall string runs around the structure, and there are square openings near the eaves on each face. The roof is steeply pitched and pyramidal, with swept eaves and ridge tiles. Although the interior is no longer accessible, it is known to contain nesting boxes.
