Description
Newsham Hall is a building from the 17th and early 18th centuries, constructed in several phases. It is primarily made of small hand-made bricks, which are mostly rendered, and features steeply-pitched pantiled roofs with old brick chimneys along the ridge. The building has a double span, with the northern span being shorter and including a pent shelter at the angle. Modern casement windows have been installed. Inside, a through-purlin roof is visible in the eastern part of the building. The interior has been refurbished in the early 19th century, showcasing a graceful staircase, an elliptical arch on fluted pilasters over a passage with a small modillion cornice, additional plaster cornices, and an arched, panelled cupboard. There is a blank section to the west that is currently used as an outbuilding.
