Description
Worsall Hall is an early 18th-century building with later additions, consisting of three sections. It is constructed from local pinkish red brick and features a pantiled roof with stone ridges and one gable coping with a kneeler. The building has ridge end chimneys and the main block is three storeys high with two windows. The right wing is taller, with two storeys and one window, while the earlier left wing is lower, two storeys high, and includes a modern returned gabled projection. The windows have gauged flat brick arches and mainly consist of sash windows with glazing bars set in wooden architraves, along with two modern casements on the ground floor. There is an early 19th-century two-storey canted bay in the right part, but the return features original thick glazing-bar sashes. Inside, there is a fine staircase with three turned balusters per tread and deeply-gadrooned knops, along with seven panelled rooms and a wall painting of Worsall Quay, which was built by the owner of the house. A Sum Insurance plaque is also present, and company records refer to "Mr Pearse's New House."
