Description
This is a late 18th century or early 19th century, two-storey, two-bay red brick outbuilding located to the south-west of No 76 in Haughton Green. It features a low pitched hipped slate roof and may have originally served as a granary. A wooden staircase leads to a side entrance on the first floor. The building has blank walls and a large central roof light. There is a plank door with a knocker inscribed with the name "Bewick." This outbuilding is said to have been the studio of William Bewick, a portrait and historical painter who lived from 1795 to 1866, and it is primarily listed for its historical association with him.
