Description

Milepost in front of Number 12 (Cedar Ridge) is a late 19th-century cast iron milepost painted white with raised black sans-serif letters. It has a triangular shape with a sloping top and a semicircular back plate. The back plate features the inscription "DURHAM COUNTY." On the left side, it indicates "BARNARD CASTLE 13 MILES" with a hand pointing to the west, while the right side shows "DARLINGTON 3 MILES" with a hand pointing to the east.
