Description
Bland Nook is a house, formerly two dwellings, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of squared sandstone rubble with stone-flagged roofs and stone chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has four bays with flush quoins.
In the second bay, there is a replaced door with an overlight. An identical door and overlight, set in a flush surround with elongated top blocks, can be found between the third and fourth bays. The windows are replaced four-pane sashes. The roof features coped gables and shaped kneelers, along with end and ridge stacks that have top bands and water tables. A door lintel inscribed with "I A B 1734" is likely re-set in the rear wall. Additionally, there is a two-storey, one-bay gabled wing attached to the rear of the right return.
The building is included for its group value.
