Description
Lune Head House is an early 19th-century house constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The building features two rubble gable stacks and has four bays across two storeys. It has quoins and an off-centre doorway with a plank door. To the left of the doorway is a single sash window, while to the right are two glazing bar sashes. Above the doorway, there is a narrow glazing bar sash, with another single sash to the left and two sashes to the right. Attached to the right are outbuildings that include a small plank door on the ground floor and breathers above. Beyond these is another outbuilding, which has a lean-to with a stone slate roof and a plank door on the side elevation. The rear additions of the house have largely collapsed. This building was likely constructed as the headquarters of the Lunedale Mine.
