Description
Hargill Bridge is a road bridge that crosses Hargill Beck, likely built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from rubble with squared-boulder coping stones, and both faces of the bridge are similar in appearance. The bridge features a segmental arch made up of thin and rough projecting voussoirs. The faces contain scattered throughstones. The parapet has a slight curve and is adorned with large coping stones that are laid alternately upright and flat, creating an embattled effect. The west end of the bridge is splayed, while the east end is straight and ends with later battered piers that have squared caps.
