Description
Far Beck Bridge is a small road bridge that spans Lune Head Beck, likely built in the late 18th century. The bridge is constructed from rubble and features squared-boulder coping stones on both faces, which are similar in appearance. It has a segmental arch supported by rough projecting voussoirs, and the faces of the bridge include scattered throughstones. The end sections show some later masonry infill. The bridge has a rising curved parapet with large coping stones arranged alternately upright and flat, creating an embattled effect. The west end is splayed and terminated by roughly-squared boulders, while the curving east end is finished with squared caps.
