Description
The Hardwick Arms Hotel is a hotel built in the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations from the 19th century. It features pebble-dashed brick and masonry, topped with a Welsh slate roof and rendered brick chimneys. The building is three stories high with a seven-bay front that has a low rendered plinth. A carriageway runs through the third bay, which has spur stones and side doors, and is framed by a raised, elliptical-arched surround with a keystone and impost blocks. The windows are 4-pane sashes with projecting sills and stuccoed wedge lintels; the ground-floor windows have external shutters, while the second-floor windows are small and square. There is a cogged brick eaves band, and the roof has raised verges with two ridge and two end chimneys. The additions and outbuildings at the rear are not of special interest. The hotel is included for its group value.
