Description

A pair of houses dating from the early 19th century, located on the west side of North End in Sedgefield. The houses have painted and rendered walls with a pantiled roof and brick chimneys. They are two storeys high with a symmetrical facade of three windows. The ground floor has four openings: 20th-century planked doors are situated in the first and third bays, the right-hand door being sheltered by a 20th-century gabled hood. Early to mid-19th century canted bay windows with 2+6+2-pane sashes are present in the second and fourth bays. The upper windows are replacements, previously 6-pane sashes. The steeply pitched roof has a chimney at the right-hand end made of old brick, and a rebuilt ridge chimney.
