Description

No. 3 The Square is an 18th-century house with early 19th-century alterations. It features rendered masonry and a renewed pantiled roof with rebuilt brick chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has three windows. On the ground floor, there are five openings, including a pair of 19th-century two-panel doors with an overlight, a flush stone surround, and a bracketed hood. This entrance is flanked by a central canted 20th-century bay window, with identical bay windows at the end bays. Above, there are two 12-pane sash windows and one 16-pane sash window. The steeply-pitched roof has slightly-swept eaves and chimneys at the left end and ridge. The attached buildings, Nos. 4 and 5 to the right, are not of special interest.
