Description
The former farmhouse and stable range, located 20 metres north of Step Ends Farmhouse, dates from around 1700, with the stable range added in the mid-19th century. The structure is built of coursed rubble and features a stone-flagged roof with a stone chimney stack. The stable range is attached to the rear of the left side of the farmhouse.
The farmhouse has a low plinth and roughly-shaped quoins. The front yard includes external stone stairs leading to a boarded door. The left side has a gabled return with a Dutch door and a small blocked opening to the right, along with a blocked 2-light flat-mullioned window above and a small blocked 2-light chamfered-mullioned window in the gable. The right side has two blocked fire windows. The rear has been rebuilt and includes several breathers and two blocked openings. The right end features a stack with a top band and water table. Inside, both floors have small fireplaces set in chamfered surrounds with large rough lintels.
The one-storey, 2-bay stable range has two Dutch doors and is included for its group value.
