Description
This lamp post, located 7 metres east of Number 7 on The Green in Great Aycliffe, is a Grade II listed structure. It was originally a gas lamp, converted to electricity in the early 20th century. The lamp post was restored and relocated to its current position around 1980. It features a cast-iron post that is thin, fluted, and tapering, standing on a circular torus base. The square lampholder is supported by curved brackets and has sloping panes topped with a finial.
