WOLSINGHAM A689 side, off) NZ 03 NE (South side, off) 22/328 Holebeck Farmhouse and byre 29.6.71 II

Farmhouse and cowhouse. Early C18. Thinly-rendered sandstone rubble with boulder plinth, and ashlar dressings; some throughstones. Stone-flagged roofs, renewed on house, with gable copings and stone chimneys raised in brick or ashlar. 3 storeys, 4 windows to house: 2 storey, 3-bay cowhouse at right. House has boarded door in third bay, with inset glazed panel, in flat-Tudor- arched surround. Paired sash windows with wood mullions except for low second floor which has two 2-light single-chamfered stone windows. Gable copings rest on moulded kneelers; 3 ridge chimneys, the outer stone and brick, the central raised in ashlar and corniced. Cowhouse blank on this elevation. Left return has mounting block against external stack.

Interior: ground-floor panelled room to left of entrance has corniced chimney- piece, and blind arched cupboard (in pilastered surround with key and impost blocks) on wall adjacent to cross passage. Dog-leg close-string stair with narrow grip handrail on column-and-vase balusters.
