Description
The war memorial in Craghead, dating from around 1919, features pink granite steps, a plinth, and a column, topped with a white marble statue. It has wide square steps leading to a tall square base and a tapered column that supports a tall square base for a life-size statue of an angel. The memorial includes Art Nouveau lettering with the years 1914 and 1919 in low-relief panels on alternate sides of the statue base. The names of the fallen from Craghead in the First and Second World Wars, along with mottoes, are inscribed in low-relief black letters on the base and plinth, with the words "CRAGHEAD" and "MEMORIAL" in recessed panels.
