Description
Cross Hill Field Barn is a field barn dating from the early to mid-19th century, located 320 metres north-west of Rennygill Bridge. The barn is constructed from coursed rubble and has stone-flagged roofs.
The structure is two storeys high with a three-bay left section that features flush quoins. There is a Dutch door in the left bay, which has a flush lintel and alternating jambs, along with three first-floor breathers. The roof has coped gables.
The one-storey right section has two bays and also features flush quoins. It includes a Dutch door in the left bay with an identical surround, and the roof has a coped right gable. The right return of the barn has a boarded first-floor opening set in a flush surround.
This barn is an important feature in the landscape.
