Description

The railway accommodation bridge, built around 1885, was constructed for the Spennymoor Branch of the North Eastern Railway Company. It features rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and has a wide segmental arch supported by stepped voussoirs and large snecked masonry. The bridge includes a well-cut road-bed string and coursed squared stone parapets that have a gently sloping top leading to tooled coping, which extends across square parapet piers. The bridge carries a farm road to Lodge Farm.
