Description

A group of three cottages, probably dating from the late 18th century, located on the north side of West Terrace in Staindrop. The cottages are constructed of coursed squared sandstone with painted, tooled ashlar dressings and quoins. They have concrete-tiled roofs and rendered chimneys. Each cottage is one storey high and two bays wide. They feature stone surrounds with mitred tooling to renewed glazed doors, positioned on the right of the first bay of Nos. 13 and 12, and on the left of the second bay of No. 11. Similar surrounds are present on windows, which have renewed pivoting lights. The roof has slightly swept eaves, and each cottage has a left-end chimney.
