Description
This building is a Roman Catholic parish school located south-east of the Church of St. Thomas, dating from around 1864. It is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and ashlar dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring stone gable copings. The school has one high storey and consists of three bays.
The west elevation features a central window with a two-centred arch and Gothic-style glazing bars, set under a stone arch with narrow voussoirs. The outer bays have wide square-headed windows with similar glazing, positioned under flat stone lintels. The south gable facing the street includes a two-centred-arched window and is topped with a stone cross finial. On the east elevation, there is a central external chimney stack and a boarded door located to the right.
