Description
The stable, located to the west of Rokeby Grove, dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed from roughly-squared stone featuring a tooled band and voussoirs, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and two bays. The central entrance consists of a slatted door with a 4-pane fanlight above, flanked by 9-pane part-opening casements, all set under round arches with an impost band. Above these, there are small 3-pane windows with timber lintels. The gables are coped. On the left side, there is a dogleg stone stair leading to a boarded door on the left return, along with a lower outbuilding that has a boarded window in an older door opening. The right return features a boarded door with a plain overlight.
