ST 56 SW CHEW STOKE C.P. BREACH HILL LANE (north side)

2/64 Stable about 6 metres north east of Rookery Farmhouse G.V. II

Stable. c.1720 with later alterations. Coursed squared limestone rubble with stone dressings, double Roman tiled roof with raised coped verges and kneelers and finials. 3 bays and 1½ storeys, centre bay broken forward, round-headed central door with keystone and string course running from imposts only across central bay, round oculus above set in limestone square, gable; to each side an oval oculus set in limestone rectangle, lean-to at left and right. Right return has 3-light casement with ovolo-moulded mullions in gable end; continuous lean-to along rear. Interior: not inspected. In poor condition at time of survey (December 1984).
