Description
No. 94 and 94A on Gilesgate are two houses that have been converted into a bank, office, and post office. They were built in the early 19th century. The left side, No. 94, features brick with stretcher courses and may have been rebuilt, while No. 94A is rendered with painted ashlar dressings. The building has a Welsh slate roof and is two stories tall with four windows.
To the left, there is a shop and bank from around 1960, and to the right, an early 20th-century shop with a fascia and cornice. The first floor has three sash windows with glazing bars, soldier-course lintels, and projecting stone sills. The window on the right has been renewed but retains a projecting stone sill. The roof is hipped on the right side over the corner with Magdalene Street. There are brick ridge chimneys, corniced on the left, and an octagonal yellow pot chimney on the right. The building is included for its group value.
