Description

No. 143 Gilesgate is a house built around 1830. It features incised stucco with painted ashlar dressings and has a Welsh slate roof with a rendered chimney. The building has two low storeys and one window. On the left side, there is a four-panelled door with an overlight, set in a doorcase that has narrow fluted pilasters and a bracketed hood. The windows are square sashes with margined lights, framed by architraves that include small false keystones and projecting stone sills. The steeply-pitched roof has a chimney at the right end.
