Description

This is a pair of houses located at 144 and 145 Gilesgate, built in the early 19th century. They feature incised stucco with painted ashlar dressings and have a Welsh slate roof with a brick chimney. The buildings are two storeys high and have three windows. There is a central boarded vehicle entrance, which is flanked by four-panelled doors and overlights, all set within architraves that have bracketed hoods. The sashes, which have been renewed, include projecting stone sills and glazing bars. One of the end chimneys has also been renewed.
