Description

The ice house, located 120 metres south of Brancepeth Golf Club House, is a structure from the early to mid-19th century. It is built from rubble and features a brick-lined vault. The large building is situated beneath a mound covered with trees. Access is provided by a steep flight of steps leading down to a boarded door, which is framed by rubble side walls with flat copings. The square-headed doorway, topped with a flat slab, opens into a large ice well that has a segmental brick tunnel vault.
