Description
Nabb Bridge, located 160 metres west of Nabb House, is likely a pack-horse bridge dating from the mid-18th century. It features later abutments and a partly rebuilt parapet. The bridge has a dressed sandstone arch and tunnel, with rubble walls and parapet.
Both sides of the bridge are similar, showcasing a two-order segmental arch with set-back voussoirs, flanked by the later abutments. The raking parapet has splayed ends, and the pathway narrows to about 2.0 metres above the centre of the arch. An inscribed slab, which is now illegible, is set in the centre of the west parapet.
This bridge spans the parishes of Bowes and Lartington.
