Description
Croft House, the attached extension, and Sunny Croft are a pair of houses built in the late 18th to early 19th century, with the extension dated 1797 on its keystone. The buildings are constructed from squared rubble and feature a stone-flagged roof with stone chimney stacks. Croft House has the extension on its left side, while Sunny Croft is on the right.
The main structure is two storeys high with three bays on the left and two bays on the right. It has flush quoins on the left side. The second bay contains a possibly re-set bolection-moulded stone doorway with a replaced door. The fourth bay has a replaced door with a flush surround. The left bay features a 4-pane sash window, and there are canted bay windows flanking the fourth bay. On the first floor, the second bay is blank, while the other four bays have 4-pane sash windows in moulded surrounds. The roof has a coped gable on the left and shaped kneelers, with end and ridge stacks that include top bands and water tables.
The two-storey, one-bay extension has a pair of boarded doors set in a segmental archway, which features flush voussoirs, monolithic jambs, and the keystone dated 1797. It has a low-pitched roof.
These buildings are included for their group value.
