Description

Badger Way Stoop is a waymarker and boundary stone located 700 metres north-west of Byers Hill, marking the border with Newsham Civil Parish in North Yorkshire. It dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and is made of cut sandstone. The stoop is a five-sided pillar approximately 1.3 metres high. The two cut faces on the north and west sides each have the inscription 'BADGER WAY STOOP' in incised Roman capitals, and there is an incised 'B' on the sloping top face between the inscriptions.
