Description
Hilrie is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, featuring some alterations. It is constructed from slightly irregular coursed squared sandstone with quoins and has painted ashlar dressings. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and has brick chimneys. The building has two storeys and three bays. The entrance consists of a renewed six-panel door with a two-pane overlight, set in a plain stone surround. On either side of the door are corniced canted bay windows with flat roofs. The first floor has three plain sash windows, each with wide stone lintels and projecting stone sills. The roof is topped with corniced end chimneys. The house is included for its group value.
