Description

The Old Toll House is a two-storey, hexagonal building dating from the late 20th century, featuring roughcast render and a Welsh slate roof. It has an original rectangular wing attached to the rear and a single-storey entrance and garage added to the right side. The main facade facing the road includes a fielded panel door, flanked by narrow lancet windows on the ground floor, with a blind panel above for a toll board and a dripmould over it. The side faces have a larger pointed two-light casement window below and another two-light casement with a dripmould above. The next faces mirror this arrangement, with the upper window being blind. The eaves are supported by paired brackets, and there is a rendered stack where the hexagon meets the rectangle. The side walls of the rear wing feature doors below, with blind sections above, and the end wall has another casement window with a dripmould. Although not inspected during the resurvey, it is noted that the rooms are likely to be extremely small.
