Description
The Church of St Mary Magdalene is a Grade II listed building constructed from yellow-brown stone with slate roofs. It features an undivided nave and chancel, a west tower, and a south porch. The porch includes an 18th-century sundial in the gable, and the entrance door is boarded and nailed. On either side of the porch, there are two 19th-century two-light Decorated windows and a buttress. The east window is a three-light Decorated window from the 19th century. The north side has no openings and is supported by buttresses. The castellated tower has plain arched windows on three levels.
Inside the nave, there is a brass inscription that records a flood in 1606, stating, "On the XX day of January, even as it came to pas, it pleased God the flud did flow to the edge of this same bras, and in this parish there was lost 5000 and odd pounds besides XXII people was in this parish drownd ...."
