Description
98 Mill Street is a semi-detached pair of early to mid 19th century 'Tudor Revival' cottages, located alongside 96 Mill Street. The cottages are entirely rendered and feature Welsh slate roofs with red brick chimneys. They consist of two small one-storey and attic cottages with only minor rear extensions. Each cottage has a central paired entrance with vertical plank doors that include a central glazed panel, moulded four-centred heads, and recessed spandrels, all topped with dripmoulds.
Flanking the entrances are 2-light casement windows with pointed heads and dripmoulds, each window containing three panes. Above the doors, there are similar 2-light gabled dormers with slated cheeks, shaped bargeboards, and finials. The roof has gable ends and scalloped bargeboards, with rebuilt red brick stacks at both ends. The left gable features a similar 2-light casement window on the upper floor, while the rear elevation includes two additional gabled dormers.
At the time of the resurvey, the property had not been inspected.
