Description
This is a pair of semi-detached estate cottages located on Whittlesey Road in Thorney. They were built in the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of gault brick with a Welsh slate roof, and have a flush ridge end stack on each gable. Each cottage also features a gabled full dormer with slated cheeks. The cottages are one storey and attic, with symmetrical floor plans and elevations. Entry doorways are centrally placed, with a flanking casement window to the left and right of each. The doorways have heavy timber frames and vertical board doors. The ground floor and dormers have 2-light casement windows with glazing bars. Openings are topped with brick flat arches. A cast iron footscraper is located on the outer side of both doorways. Internally, both cottages retain their original staircases and doors.
