Description
7-12 Burton Homes is a single-storey block of almshouses built from red-brown rock-faced stone with bathstone dressings. The roofs are plain tiled, and there are brick chimneys. The windows feature mullions and transoms with small-pane casement glazing. At each end of the building, there are blocks set forward that have paired half-timbered gables and a tiled hood over a pair of splayed bay windows. The inner elevations include lean-to porches with roofs that follow the gable line, and these porches are also half-timbered and glazed. Between the end blocks, there are four houses, each with a central steeply-gabled half-timbered porch and a mullion and transom window on either side.
