Description
The boundary walls to the Orangery Garden and Cedar Garden date from the early 18th century and are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, standing approximately 4 meters high. The walls are regularly interrupted by shallow, engaged brick pilasters and feature a simple coping with a shallow projecting stone watershield beneath. Each of the two adjoining courtyards can be accessed from the northwest and southeast sides through a pair of large brick gatepiers. These gatepiers are capped with stone gadrooned urns that have scrolled acanthus leaf decoration at the base and are topped with finials. The original gates are missing.
