Description
Hadnock Court is a building that has been wholly cement rendered over local rubblestone and features Welsh slate roofs. The structure consists of a taller main house with an original house attached to the left, both having a double depth plan, although the older service end has been altered.
The main house is two storeys tall, with an attic and basement. It has three windows and the entrance located to the right, which features a 6-panel door with flush panels and a flat timber hood supported by carved brackets. The windows are predominantly 8 over 8 pane sashes, except for the ground floor left, which has a canted bay with 6 over 6 sashes and a flat roof. The building is adorned with a brick modillion cornice and has a steeply pitched M roof with four tall and massive stacks, one at each gable end. A late 20th-century conservatory has been added to the right gable. The rear elevation reveals the basement level due to the sloping ground, with 6 over 6 pane sashes above. There are also two late 20th-century flat-topped dormers in the roof.
The older left wing is two storeys high and features a central entrance on the main elevation with a glazed door and a small hood. It has flanking 3-light casements and smaller 2-light casements to the right. Although all these features are from the 20th century, their uneven placement suggests that some may be older openings. The wing has a coped gable with a stack to the left, and the rear elevation displays varied windows and a differing roofline.
The interior has undergone significant alterations, making it difficult to interpret. Most rooms in the main house exhibit an early Victorian character, while the service end is from the 20th century. An early 19th-century stick baluster stair with a mahogany handrail is present, but the roof trusses are not visible.
