Description

26 and 26a is a Georgian building featuring two separate shopfronts with accommodation space above. The exterior is rendered and has a high coped parapet in front of a concrete-tiled roof. The building has three storeys and a basement. The top floor includes three windows with 6/6-pane sashes that have architraves and a blocked centre. The first floor has five windows with 8/12 sashes, also with architraves. The shopfronts consist of plate glass, with the right side projecting and the left side being flush and boarded up, accompanied by a narrow panelled door that retains a 4-pane overlight. The rear elevation facing Bank Street features a three-window range of sashes and a central round-arched doorway flanked by boarded windows. The cellar reportedly has a corbelled roof.
