Description
The lychgate and stile to the churchyard of Penallt Old Church (St Mary's) are constructed from sandstone conglomerate and feature a stone slate roof with oak gates at the lychgate. The design is simple, characterized by bold rubble walls that support a gabled oak roof. The lychgate includes plain double gates. To the right of the lychgate, when viewed from outside the churchyard, there is a stile that is accessed by three steps. The stile consists of a slab set upright between the gable wall of the gate and the rubble wall of the churchyard.
