Description
10 Almshouse Street is a group of four consecutive houses, numbered 9 to 12, built in red brick with Bath stone quoins and a Welsh slate roof. These single fronted, double depth houses are three storeys high and feature four windows and five doors on the ground floor, one of which provides access to the rear. The arrangement of the ground floor is door, window, window, door, door, window, door, door, with the doors being vertical plank types. The windows are 3 over 6 pane sashes, except for those on the top floor, which are 3 over 3. The low pitch roof has two large ridge stacks positioned between each pair of houses. The west gable end is rendered, rising above the roof of No. 8, and the gable of the rear range is visible. The rear elevation is also rendered and features plain casement windows.
The interior was restructured in the late 20th century but still retains very small rooms. Only No. 11 was inspected during the resurvey.
